Espoir Jeune is a Swiss non profit helping children in Burkina Faso

Since 2006, Espoir Jeune has been helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Gaoua, Burkina Faso, build themselves a better future through a financially-sustainable approach.

Starting off with only 4 children, the project has grown significantly to finance the housing, food, and education of 15 boys and 16 girls. Among the many success stories of this project, 4 students are currently attending university in the capital, Ouagadougou, 1 student is finishing his education as a primary school teacher, and 3 others have become skilled workers thanks to effective apprenticeships with local industry.

Espoir Jeune is also unique thanks to its innovative, sustainable and self-financing model. By financing multiple local cash-generating projects, Espoir Jeune is able to cover a significant share of its operating costs. The project therefore can run independently with limited support from Switzerland!
